SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is set to visit Johnson Central for a 57th District boys’ basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 3.
The Hornets and Golden Eagles met earlier in the 2021-22 boys’ high school basketball season. Johnson Central pulled away to defeat Magoffin County 67-38 in a 57th District boys’ basketball game in Salyersville on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Following a loss on the road in Paintsville on Tuesday. Feb. 1, Magoffin County dropped to 10-11 overall and 0-5 in the 57th District. However, Magoffin County is a talented boys’ high school basketball team.
After outlasting visiting Martin County 60-58 on Monday, Jan. 31, Johnson Central improved to 10-7 overall and 3-1 in the 57th District.
The Golden Eagles have recorded six straight wins. Johnson Central has won eight of its last 10 games.

The Hornets and Golden Eagles are longtime rivals.
Both Magoffin County and Johnson Central are slated to compete in the 57th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament later in the month.
Tip-off for the Magoffin County-Johnson Central boys’ basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m. in Paintsville.
