WILLARD — Returning to victory lane, Magoffin County driver Michael Paul Howard drove to a feature win in the Modified class at Willard Speedway on Sunday, July 3.
A total of 31 cars competed in the Modified class at the Carter County track.
Howard, who qualified fifth, won the first heat race. Following the heat race, Howard turned in another dominant performance. Among the top Modified drivers in the state, Howard led all 20 laps in the Willard Speedway Modified feature race.
Brandon Hutchinson (2), Jimmy Lennex (3), Ervin Vance (4) and Jody Puckett (5) followed Howard to the finish line.
Hutchinson won the second heat race prior to the feature event.
The additional feature winners on Willard Speedway’s latest race night were Shannon Thornsberry (Super Late Model), Hunter McCloud (Sport Mod), Frankie King Jr. (4-Cylinder) and Hayden Cardwell (Pro Crate Late Model).
Willard Speedway is scheduled to host its next race night on Saturday, July 9.
