Lady Hornets roll past Jackson City 48-22

SALYERSVILLE — Returning to the win column, Magoffin County rolled past Jackson City 48-22 on Monday, Feb. 19.

Magoffin County shot 31.7 percent (19-of-60) from the field. The Lady Hornets made four of 21 three-point field goal attempts.

Jaylee Reed scored 13 points to lead Magoffin County to the win. Reed made three three-pointers.

Accompanying Reed in double figures for Magoffin County, Abby Barnett scored 10 points,

Finishing near double figures for Magoffin County, Emily Sluss netted eight points while Bella Trusty posted seven points and Macy Williams added six points.

Rounding out Magoffin County’s scoring, Abigail Bradley and Karly Williams chipped in two points apiece.

Maddie Salyer paced Magoffin County inside, claiming 11 rebounds.

Jackson City shot 21.6 percent (eight-of-37) from the field. The Lady Tigers made two of 12 three-point field goal attempts.

Tara Strong scored 10 points and cleared out a game-high 15 rebounds to lead Jackson City in the matchup. Strong was the only Jackson City player to reach double figures.

Emily Patrick (five points), Harley Fugate (four points) and Kaylee Lovins (three points) joined Strong in Jackson City’s scoring column.
