SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County senior Ben Lafferty has received an offer from the Hanover College football program.
Lafferty is poised to help lead the Hornets in the 2022 high school football season. A linebacker/defensive end/running back/tight end, Lafferty is a leader on the gridiron for the Hornets.
Thriving defensively as a junior during the 2021 high school football season, Lafferty recorded 59 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss and eight sacks in 10 games.
Delivering both defensively and offensively for the Hornets in 2021, Lafferty rushed 33 times for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Lafferty scored a team-high eight two-point conversions for Magoffin County during the 2021 season.
Along with excelling defensively and offensively, Lafferty can contribute on special teams as a kicker.
Hanover College is a private college located in Hanover, Indiana. The college is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). It is Indiana’s oldest private college. The Hanover College athletic teams participate in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC).
Several other college football programs continue to show an interest in Lafferty, who is a Kentucky Governor’s Scholar.
