PRESTONSBURG — Magoffin County archers excelled in the Blackcat Classic at the Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Both Herald Whitaker Middle School and Magoffin County High School turned in solid performances during the Prestonsburg-hosted archery tournament.
HWMS finished first in the middle school division.
MCHS placed second in the high school division.
Individually, multiple Magoffin County archers thrived throughout the Blackcat Classic.
Brayden Lewis led HWMS, placing second in the middle school boys’ division.
Madison Rose placed fourth in the middle school girls’ division.
Leading the Hornets, Blake Collinsworth finished first in the high school boys’ division.
Finishing directly behind his teammate in the high school boys’ division, Chance Gipson placed second.
