SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County archers excelled in The Shoot Out Series in Evansville, Tenn., over the weekend.
Leading the Magoffin County archery program on Saturday, Feb. 19, Chance Gipson was crowned The Shoot Out Series Universal Draw National Champion. Gipson finished runner-up for the Kentucky state championship.
Blake Collinsworth finished as the Kentucky state champion and national runner-up in the Universal Draw Male Division.
Samantha Wheatley finished as both the state runner-up and national runner-up in the Young Adult Universal Draw Female Division.
Magoffin County is home to some of the state’s top young archers.
