Magoffin County defeats Floyd Central in six innings, 13-3

MOUNT OLIVET — Winning on the road behind a no-hitter from pitcher Jaden Williams, Magoffin County shut out Robertson County 8-0 in three innings on Saturday, April 2.

Under the direction of head coach Tony Skaggs, Magoffin County made the most of its offensive opportunities during the high school softball game.

Magoffin County moved ahead early, forcing 10th Region member Robertson County to play from behind throughout the high school softball matchup.

Williams led Magoffin County in the circle and at the plate, connecting for a pair of hits in her two at-bats.

The productive Williams delivered three RBIs.

Ashlyn Patrick, Scarlett McCarty, Makenna Jordan, Katie Carty, Jaylynn Lafferty and Katie Howard added one hit apiece for the Lady Hornets in the shutout win over familiar foe Robertson County.

Aiding Magoffin County in moving runners around the bases, Jordan and Patrick each drove in one run.

Visiting Magoffin County (57th District) dealt Robertson County (38th District) its fourth consecutive loss in the 2022 high school softball season.

Magoffin County and Robertson County aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2022 high school softball season.
