SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is ranked eighth in the Kentucky Prep Softball Preseason 15th Region Rankings.
Former 15th Region champion Magoffin County is ranked ahead of Martin County and Floyd Central.
Magoffin County is listed behind Paintsville, Pikeville, Shelby Valley, Belfry, Pike County Central, Johnson Central and Lawrence County.
Following a loss to Paintsville in the semifinals of the 57th District Softball Tournament, Magoffin County exited the 2022 season 10-11.
Under the direction of Coach Tony Skaggs, Magoffin County opened preseason practice in February. Several experienced players are prepared to compete for Magoffin County in the 2022 season.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Pikeville for its season opener on Monday, March 13. First pitch for the Magoffin County-Pikeville softball game is set for 6 p.m.
