Opponents from three regions comprise Lady Hornets’ schedule

SALYERSVILLE — Opponents from three regions fill Magoffin County’s schedule for the 2022 high school volleyball season.

Magoffin County will face opponents from the 14th, 15th and 16th regions during the upcoming prep volleyball campaign. A member of the 15th Region, Magoffin County is set to return several experienced players for the 2022 high school volleyball season.

Under the direction of head coach Haley Miller, Magoffin County will open preseason practice following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period.

The opponents on the Lady Hornets’ schedule include Lawrence County, Morgan County, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Johnson Central, Jackson City, Menifee County, Hazard, Lawrence County, Martin County, Shelby Valley, Piarist School and June Buchanan.

Magoffin County concluded the 2021 high school volleyball season 5-20. Paintsville shut out Magoffin County 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-11) in the semifinals of the 2021 57th District Volleyball Tournament at Martin County High School.

The Lady Hornets will open preseason practice following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period later in the month.

Magoffin County is scheduled to visit 57th District rival Paintsville for a season opener on Monday, Aug. 15.
