Perkins named to Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team

PIKEVILLE – Redshirt junior offensive lineman Nathan Perkins remains one of the top student-athletes for the University of Pikeville football team after earning another conference honor.

A Magoffin County High School graduate, Perkins has been named to the Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team.

The Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team was announced on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

In order to be nominated for the Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter.

The University of Pikeville had a program-record 19 student-athletes named to the team. The student-athletes named to the team were Perkins, Bascom Bailey, Alexander Carmichael, Amari Hardwick, Troy Hill, Clayton Horn, Matthew Horn, Luke Humphrey, Bradyn Hunter, Ryen Livers, Myson Livingston, Virgil Long, Dennison Lowe, Adrian Medacco, Nicolas Parsley, Jacquez Russ, Bryan Russell-Miller, Lenkel Smith and Elijah Stallard, who was also named to the Champions of Character team for the first time in his career.

This is the fourth Academic All-Conference honor for Hill and Lowe. It is the third honor for Perkins, Carmichael, Humphrey and Parlsey. It is the second honor for Bailey, Clayton and Matthew Horn, Hunter, Livingston and Stallard. It’s the first honor for Hardwick, Livers, Long, Medacco, Russ, Russell-Miller and Smith.
