Roger Bennett Gillum, age 86, a resident of Royalton Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Gillum was born December 30, 1937 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Earl and Beatrice Joseph Gillum. Brother, Ronald Gillum, also preceded in death.
Mr. Gillum retired from the coal industry. He was a graduate of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky with a Bachelors Degree.
Those left to mourn include wife, Charlotte Watkins Gillum of Salyersville, Kentucky, daughters, Angela Gillum of Salyersville, Kentucky, Theresa Miller and husband Raymond of Salyersville, Kentucky, son, Paul Michael Gillum and wife Diana of Sherman, Texas, six grandchildren, Krista Rowe of Salyersville, Kentucky, Charla Howard of Lexington, Kentucky, Kristie Miller of Louisville, Kentucky, Lyndsay Collett of Salyersville, Kentucky, Wesley Miller of Salyersville, Kentucky, Michael James Gillum of Sherman, Texas, four great grandchildren, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Roger Bennett Gillum will be conducted Friday, November 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Tim Watkins and Larry Williams will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Dean Joseph Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Thursday, October 31, after 5:00 PM and anytime prior to funeral services.
