Two local utilities posted announcements this week concerning billing statements.
Foothills Communications released a message to customers, noting that they had received numerous calls from customers about not receiving this month’s billing statements. They stated that all Magoffin County statements had been mailed out last week, but customers can always check their billing balance by calling 606-297-3501 and pressing option 1. Bill can also be viewed online at https://eaccount.foothills.net/esp/Security/Login.
Similarly, Licking Valley REEC also posted that there had been an issue with their billing statements not being delivered this billing cycle.
“We have been investigating the issue with the local USPS offices and our billing center,” LVRECC posted on Facebook this week. “First, all bills were mailed by our billing center. The issue is a result of a USPS sorting facility not processing the statements and it did not involve the local USPS offices serving LVRECC members. This issue has occurred across the country to other utilities as well. From what we have been told, USPS has updated some of their software that has contributed to this issue.”
LVRECC noted that the issue primarily affected 10 zip codes, with the end result of approximately 2,800 members not receiving their bill. Of those, 859 Magoffin County LVRECC customers were affected.
They also stated that their phone systems have been inundated with calls, understandably, and asked for customers to be patient if they are trying to reach a representative by phone. LVRECC also explained that members can always check their balances by selecting option 1 with their automated phone system (606-743-3179) or click “Check Balances/Pay Bill” on their website, https://lvrecc.smarthub.coop/Login.html.
