Stacy helps Pioneers win home opener

LEXINGTON – Playing out of a starting role, sophomore guard Kennedi Stacy helped Transylvania defeat visiting Adrian 48-26 in a home opener at the Beck Center on Saturday, Dec. 5.

LEXINGTON – Playing out of a starting role, sophomore guard Kennedi Stacy helped Transylvania defeat visiting Adrian 48-26 in a home opener at the Beck Center on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Stacy, a Magoffin County High School graduate, scored six points, pulled down two rebounds and recorded two steals for Transylvania in the win.

Her teammate, Zenoviah Walker, led all players with a game-high 10 points. Pacing the Pioneers inside, Grace Shope pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Madison Kellione contributed seven points for the Pioneers in the victory.

Stacy, Shope, Miranda Otero and Sarah McDonald followed Kellione in the Transylvania scoring column, netting six points apiece. In addition to posting six points for the Pioneers, Otero grabbed nine rebounds.

Transylvania led 26-7 at halftime.

Stacy is back on the court after contributing for Transylvania throughout the 2019-20 women’s college basketball season. The Magoffin County High School graduate appeared in 28 games and made 11 starts for Transylvania as a freshman. Stacy was selected to the HCAC All-Freshman Team.

Transylvania is preparing to face Morehead State in its next matchup.

    Love to watch #24 play Kennedi Stacy play, she gives it her all!
