SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County shut out Menifee County 3-0 in a non-district girls’ volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The Lady Hornets won easily, prevailing 25-16, 25-7, 25-6.
Magoffin County registered its second straight win. The Lady Hornets won for the fourth time in five matches. Following the win, Magoffin County improved to 5-7.
Foes from neighboring regions, Magoffin County and Menifee County met for the first time in the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season.
Magoffin County has shown improvement throughout the second half of the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season. The current girls’ high school volleyball campaign opened on Monday, Aug. 18.
Abby Barnett, Ileana Torices, Jaylee Reed, Larah Salyer, Maci Minix, Ava Gibson, Maddie Salyer, Karlee Wallen, Lucy Whitaker and Kellen Simpkins are combining to lead Magoffin County in the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season.
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Menifee County for another match on Friday, Oct. 3.
