SALYERSVILLE – Candidate filings opened for the 2026 Magoffin County Primary Election on Wednesday, proving to be an active first day.
At press time, the following candidates have officially filed for a public office in Magoffin County.

The primary election will include the county races, and the general election next fall will also include school board, soil and conservation and all city races.
The candidate filing deadline for the primary will be January 9, 2026. The last day for a voter to change his/her political party affiliation and be eligible to vote in that political party’s upcoming primary election will be December 31, 2025. The voter registration deadline is April 20, 2026, at 4 p.m. in order to vote in the primary election on May 19, 2026.
