Garry Howard, age 79, a resident of Oakley Creek Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born March 17, 1947, in Carver, Kentucky, the son of the late Boyd and Ellarree Minix Howard. Wife, Cynthia Howard Howard, and brother, Jerry Howard also preceded in death.
Garry attended Mayo Vocational College in Paintsville, Kentucky and later retired from the coal industry as a heavy equipment operator. He loved being around his family and friends, whether it be visiting, dinner, or car show.
Those left to honor him includes sons, Greg Howard and wife Angie of Salyersville, Kentucky, Terry Howard and wife Rebecca of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jeffery Howard and wife Tammy of Salyersville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Trevor Howard (Treva), Megan Howard, Eli Howard, Colton Howard, Landon Howard, great grandchildren, Jerica Stephens, Corbin Howard, Cade Howard, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Garry Howard were conducted Saturday, July 25, 2026, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Jesse Minix delivered comforting words on the day of service. Interment followed in the Minix Cemetery in Carver, Kentucky.
