GRAYSON – A traveling art exhibit featuring the works of the late Thomas J. Whitaker, a Magoffin County native and well-known Appalachian artist, is scheduled to be showcased at the Grayson Gallery and Art Center later this month.
The show, called “Artist Tom Whitaker Retrospective,” will be held on January 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Grayson Gallery and Art Center.
Dan Click, owner of the art gallery, posted the event on Facebook, noting that the show is to celebrate the life’s work of Whitaker. Live music will be provided by the duo “Laid Back & Honey,” with special guest Luna of “Luna & the Mountain Jets.” Light refreshments will be provided by Sheila Sobral.
The event is free to the public.
Established as a venue to showcase local artists and musicians, the Grayson Gallery and Art Center was opened in May 2011 in the former Grayson Fire Station building.
