Betty Montgomery Carty, age 87, of Rockhouse Creek, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Saint Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born February 21, 1939, in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Linzie and Bessie Jenkins Montgomery.
Survivors include three sons, Greg Carty and wife Evelyn, Christopher Carty and wife, Suzie; Rickey Carty and wife, Ida May and one daughter, Teresa Watson and husband, Wesley, all of Salyersville, Kentucky. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Taylor Carty King, Joshua Carty, Linzi Watson, Savannah Carty, Jacob Watson, Austin Carty and Caleb Carty and two great grandchildren, Zane King and Sawyer King.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Carty and six brothers, Delbert Montgomery, Hubert Montgomery, Elbert Montgomery, Olen Montgomery, Edgil Montgomery, and Dona Montgomery and three sisters, Elva Howard, Mollie Daniels and Madgie Montgomery. Betty was also blessed with a special caregiver, Faye Perkins, who the family will be forever grateful.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 27, 2026 from the Rockhouse Liberty Baptist Church with Denzil Jenkins, Herschel Wright and Paul Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Jenkins Cemetery at Rockhouse, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
