David Ellis Montgomery (age 71) Currently of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Salyersville, Kentucky went home to be with Jesus on March 16, 2023 after a strong courageous battle with colon cancer at the Advent Health Hospital, Tampa, Florida. David was born September 30, 1951 in Plymouth, Ohio, the first born child of Ellis and Arzella Barnett Montgomery. David was hardworking and a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, He was loved and will be greatly missed.
David leaves to mourn his departure and cherish his Memory: four sisters, Linda Montgomery Ball of West Liberty, Kentucky, Wanda and husband Larry Gene Burton, of Salyersville, Kentucky, Kaye and husband, Gary Allen of Salyersville, Kentucky, Diane Montgomery of Lexington, Kentucky, half-sister, Vivian Montgomery of Apopka, Florida, three brothers, John and wife Annette Montgomery of Montique, Michigan, Larry and Sue Montgomery of Butler, Indiana, Ricky and Tina Montgomery of Wittensville, Kentucky.
Two daughters, Stacie Montgomery Howard (Houston,TX), Katrina Montgomery (Cincinnati, OH). one son, David Montgomery, Jr (Middleton, Ohio). nine grandchildren, Louise Howard-Serialle, Alexander Howard, Chelsey Bond, Alexius Thall, Sean Campbell, Benjamin Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Bailey Montgomery, Peyton Montgomery, eighteen great grandchildren, Natalie Serialle, Erionna Serialle, Grace Serialle, Skyler Serialle, Emmanuel Serialle, Jr., Kiana Serialle, Kinsley Serialle, Elijah Serialle, Kaleb Djire, Levi Howard, London Howard, Lyla Howard, Emalee Montgomery, Konner Russell, Kenai Russell, Tallulah Russell, Alexander Thall, Kayden Campbell.
A special nephew and best friend, Al Clark and wife Beth of Florida, by his wife, Tamatha Montgomery with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his first wife, and mother of his children, Juanita Montgomery, 2nd Wife Mary Montgomery, one son, William “Billy” Montgomery, one infant daughter, Tracie Montgomery, two grandchildren, NaTisha Howard, Gabrielle Howard, two brothers, Bobby Montgomery, Eddie Montgomery, one half-sister, Wanda Sue Montgomery.
A memorial service will be at Montgomery Family Cemetery, Salyersville, KY, and will be announced at a later date by the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
