George Harrison Puckett age 93 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at his home. He was born November 05, 1929 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late James and Maxie Cook Puckett.
Survived by his wife Nellie Roark Puckett, two sons, Arvin (Marion) Puckett of Floral, Florida, Tom Puckett of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Linda (Jack) Hollans of Muncie, Indiana, one step-daughter, Melissa Lynn Williams of Salyersville, Kentucky, five brothers, Earl Puckett, James “Jim” Puckett, Lester Puckett, Philip Puckett, Johnny Puckett all of Salyersville, Kentucky, four sisters, Dorothy Conley, Francis Puckett, Shirley Brown all of Salyersville, Kentucky, Cathy Lain of North Judson, Indiana, three brothers-in-law, Grover (Emily) Roark, Gordan “Cotton” (Connie) Roark, David Helton all of Salyersville, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by one son, Kent Puckett, one stepson, Mickey Eugene Williams, one daughter-in-law, Connie Puckett, one granddaughter, Kandi Rose Puckett, five brothers, Charlie Puckett, Ronald Puckett, Harry Puckett, Leonard Puckett, Price Puckett, three sisters, Genevieve Puckett, Mignon Puckett, Margaret Workman, two sisters-in-law, Christine Lemaster and Sherry Lynn Helton.
George was a carpenter by trade and in 1976 he served as the Salyersville Fire Chief.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 16, 2023 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with James “Jim” Puckett and Phillip Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Roark Cemetery at Middle Fork, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home any time prior to funeral services.
