WEST LIBERTY – Magoffin County knocked off homestanding Morgan County 11-3 in a high school baseball game on Friday, April 9.

Kaden Bowling started on the mound for Magoffin County and earned the win. Bowling pitched four innings, holding Morgan County hitless while giving up two runs, one of which was earned. Bowling recorded nine strikeouts.

Lucas Litteral and Ethan Prewitt worked out of relief roles on the mound for Magoffin County, pitching two innings and one inning, respectively. Litteral recorded four strikeouts.

Morgan County relief pitcher Drew Lindon was stuck with the pitching loss.

Excelling offensively, Magoffin County plated 11 runs on 13 hits.
Caleb Howard led Magoffin County at the plate, finishing 3-for-4. Howard recorded four RBIs.

Contributing at the plate for Magoffin County in the win, Bowling, Litteral, Ethan Salyer, Trenton Coleman and Ian Prewitt provided two hits apiece.

Bowling and Salyer helped to move runners around the bases for Magoffin County, recording three RBIs and two RBIs, respectively.

The Cougars registered seven hits. However, Morgan County was forced to play from behind during the high school baseball matchup.

The Hornets are scheduled to host Morgan County on May 13.
