JACKSON, Ky. – Drivers who use KY 867 (Gun Creek) in Magoffin County will need to find an alternate route on Monday, July 8. The road will be closed between milepoints 8.5 and 8.9 for repairs to a break in pavement. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 5 p.m.
The work may extend into the following day. An additional closure may be necessary on Tuesday, July 9, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
No marked detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 1888, KY 114, US 460, the Mountain Parkway, and KY 7 as an alternate route to bypass the closure.
In case of inclement weather, the closure may be postponed until another suitable date.
Approximately 470 vehicles use this section of KY 867 each day.
