SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is ranked fifth in the Coaches’ Preseason Region 15 Softball Rankings.
Heading into the 2024 high school softball season, Magoffin County is ranked behind 15th Region rivals Belfry, Lawrence County, Pike County Central and Johnson Central.
Magoffin County is ranked ahead of Shelby Valley, Pikeville, Paintsville, Floyd Central and Phelps in the Coaches’ Preseason Region 15 Softball Rankings.
Johnson Central is the reigning Region 15 softball champion.
Under the guidance of Coach Tony Skaggs, Magoffin County compiled a 17-12 record in the 2023 high school softball season.
Numerous experienced players are due back on the field for title contender Magoffin County. A former 15th Region champion, Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Pikeville for its opening game in the 2024 high school softball season on Tuesday, March 12. First pitch for the Magoffin County-Pikeville softball game is slated for 6 p.m.
