Ray Barnett age 80 of Middle Fork, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Paintsville ARH Regional Hospital in Paintsville, Kentucky. He was born March 23, 1942 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Robert and Mary Manns Barnett.
Survived by his wife, Mary “Dudie” Wisecup Barnett, two daughters, Margretta (Ralph) Allen, Melinda Arnett both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one special son, Joseph Denton of Milfred, Indiana, four adopted children, Parnell Barnett, John Barnett, Troy Lee Barnett, Shona Barnett, two brothers, Charlie (Mary) Barnett of West Liberty, Kentucky, Glenny (Vivian) Wisecup of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Joanna (Fernando) Palacios of Tucson, Arizona, two grandchildren, Zachary (Jamecia) Allen, Kindra Allen both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one great granddaughter, Zoey “Bugs” Allen, many nephews, nieces, two special nephews, Andrew Nickels, and Dudley Nickels.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, James Barnett, Raymond “Sheep” Barnett, two sisters, Gladys Nickels, and Olia Douglas.
Ray was a coal miner, sawmill worker, and a store owner by trade. He had love for coon hunting and fishing.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 31, 2022 from the Lakefront Church of God with Ricky Sallee, and Dallas Patrick officiating. Burial followed in the Wisecup – Barnett Cemetery, Middle Fork, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
