Samuel B. Lyon age 84 of Coon Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home. He was born June 11, 1937 in Maggard, Kentucky to the late Hassell and Bertha Caudill Lyon.
Survived by two sons, Sam (Jeanette) Lyon, Scott Lyon both of Salyersville, Kentucky, three daughters, Sherry Blair, Shelly Jenkins, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, Shelia (Mike) Denniston of Wellington, Kentucky, A bonus daughter, Melissa Patrick, two brothers, Southwell Dick Lyon of Louisa, Kentucky, William Lyon of West Liberty, Kentucky, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ward Lyon, two sons, Stewart Lyon, and Stacy Lyon, five sisters, Rebecca Clubb, Betty Lou Reed, Melissa Francis, Mae Helton, and Junious Lyon.
Samuel was a member of the Flat Fork Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 20, 2021 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Floyd Arnett, Grant Cantrell, Jared Lyon officiating. Burial followed in the Lyon Family Cemetery, Coon Creek, Kentucky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
