LEXINGTON — Senior guard Kennedi Stacy helped to lead Transylvania University to a perfect 25-0 record during the women’s college basketball regular season.
A Magoffin County High School graduate, Stacy is averaging 14 points per game for the Pioneers. Stacy has started all 25 games for undefeated Transylvania, which is ranked second in the nation.
Capping off a perfect regular season, Transylvania pulled away to defeat Earlham 100-39 on Friday, Feb. 17. The Pioneers hosted Earlham for Senior Night.
One of five Transylvania seniors to be honored on Senior Night, Stacy received awards for 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
Stacy led Transylvania past Earlham, delivering 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals for the Pioneers.
“I’m very proud of this group and their incredible accomplishment,” Transylvania Coach Juli Fulks said, following her team’s 25th straight win. “Being undefeated throughout a season is a testament to their ability to show up every night and find ways to win.”
Transylvania is scheduled to start competing in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament on Friday, Feb. 24. The Pioneers are slated to host the semifinals and finals of the conference tournament.
