SALYERSVILLE — Following the conclusion of the 2022 high school baseball season, a pair of Magoffin County student-athletes, Ian McCarty and Ethan Salyer, have earned All-Area honors from Mountain Top Sports.
Both McCarty and Salyer have been tabbed All-Area Honorable Mention.
Salyer led Magoffin County at the plate as a freshman, batting .358. The productive Salyer delivered 29 hits. Salyer led Magoffin County in batting average, hits and runs. He scored 25 runs while adding 10 RBIs.
McCarty was another key contributor for the Hornets in the 2022 high school baseball season. A sophomore, McCarty was consistent both offensively and defensively for Magoffin County throughout the 2022 high school baseball campaign.
Multi-sport athletes, Salyer and McCarty are each poised to return to the field for Magoffin County in the 2023 high school baseball season. The Hornets compete in the 57th District.
