SALYERSVILLE — The format is set for the upcoming Magoffin County-Harlan County football scrimmage.
Magoffin County is scheduled to host Harlan County for its first scrimmage in the 2024 high school football preseason on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The format for the Magoffin County-Harlan County football scrimmage will be as follows: 6:30 p.m.-6:45 p.m. – Team Warmup; 6:45 p.m.-7:15 p.m. – 10 Plays Each; 7:15 p.m.-7:30 p.m. – Special Teams; 7:30 p.m.-8:15 p.m. – Down/Distance; 8:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m. – Goal line; 8:30 p.m. – Junior Varsity.
Both Magoffin County and Harlan County opened preseason practice in July, following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period.
Magoffin County competes in Class 3A, District 8. The Hornets compiled a 4-7 record in the 2023 high school football season. Magoffin County made an appearance in the 2023 KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs.
Harlan County competes in Class 5A, District 8. The Black Bears exited the 2023 high school football season 1-10. Harlan County made an appearance in the 2023 KHSAA Class 5A Playoffs.
Magoffin County and Harlan County aren’t scheduled to meet in the 2024 high school football regular season.
