SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County hosted Johnson Central for a 57th District baseball game but couldn’t get going offensively. The Golden Eagles shut out the Hornets 11-0 in six innings on Wednesday, April 16.
The win allowed Johnson Central to sweep a 57th District baseball series from Magoffin County.
Michael Trusty started on the mound for Magoffin County and suffered the loss. Trusty pitched the first three and two-thirds innings and recorded six strikeouts.
Hunter Arnett replaced Trusty on the mound for Magoffin County and pitched the final two and one-third innings. Arnett struck out one Johnson Central batter.
Offensively, Magoffin County was limited to two hits. Isaac Howard and Brayden Bailey each supplied one hit for the Hornets.
Magoffin County and Johnson Central aren’t scheduled to meet again in the regular season. Following the conclusion of the regular season, both Magoffin County and Johnson Central will compete in the 57th District Baseball Tournament.
