SALYERSVILLE – Magoffin County is scheduled to face Corbin in the first round of the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry High School on Tuesday, Dec. 28.
The Hornets are 4-3 in the first month of the 2021-22 boys’ high school basketball season. Magoffin County has claimed back-to-back wins after dropping three of its first five games.
Under the direction of head coach Scott Castle, Magoffin County has claimed wins over teams from three different regions during the opening month of the 2021-22 boys’ high school basketball season.
A team from the 13th Region, Corbin was competing in the Smoky Mountain Classic at press time on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Corbin won six of its first eight games in the 2021-22 boys’ high school basketball season.
In addition to Corbin, Magoffin County is scheduled to meet Unicoi County (Tenn.) and Clay County in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic.
Magoffin County and Corbin did not meet during the 2020-21 boys’ high school basketball season.
Tip-off for the Magoffin County-Corbin boys’ basketball game is set for 6 p.m. at Belfry High School.
