SALYERSVILLE — Returning to the win column, Magoffin County shut out June Buchanan 3-0 on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Magoffin County won 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.
Avery Preston (4 kills, 21 assists, 10 digs, 4 service aces), Maddie Salyer (3 kills, 2 blocks, 4 digs, 6 service aces), Carley Allen (3 kills), Allie Rodriguez (11 digs), Alyssa Torices (8 kills, 3 blocks, 17 digs, 3 service aces), Maci Minix (17 digs), Abby Barnett (4 kills, 4 blocks, 15 digs, 6 service aces), Carlee Adams (19 digs, 4 service aces) and Addison Patrick (6 kills, 3 digs) each produced for Magoffin County in its win.
The win allowed Magoffin County to halt a five-match losing skid. Magoffin County prevailed after dropping a match to June Buchanan in August.
Rivals from bordering regions, Magoffin County and June Buchanan aren’t scheduled to meet again in the 2023 high school volleyball season.
