Magoffin County downs Prestonsburg, 20-4

PRESTONSBURG — Winning on the road, Magoffin County pulled away to defeat Prestonsburg 20-4 in four innings Saturday, May 6.

Claiming its fourth win in five games, Magoffin County improved to 15-11.

Magoffin County pitcher Jaden Williams claimed the win in the circle.

Williams allowed only three hits and one walk while registering nine strikeouts.

The Lady Hornets excelled offensively throughout the matchup.

Magoffin County scored 20 runs on 16 hits.

Both Williams and Abby Barnett homered for the Lady Hornets.

Williams (three hits, four RBIs), Barnett (three hits, four RBIs), Avery Preston (two hits, two RBIs), Ayden Reed (two hits, two RBIs), Kayda Carr (two hits, one RBI), Katie Carty (one hit, three RBIs), Isabella Trusty (one hit, two RBIs), Kayleigh Lemaster (one hit), Kiley Lemaster (one hit) and Maci Minix (one RBI) each produced at the plate for Magoffin County in its win.

Magoffin County posted its second win over Prestonsburg in the 2023 high school softball season.
