SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host Knott County Central for its next game in the 2024 high school softball season on Thursday, March 28.
Former 15th Region champion Magoffin County will be looking to notch its first win in the 2024 high school softball season. Magoffin County is 0-3. The Lady Hornets have dropped games to Pikeville, Johnson Central and Elliott County.
Pikeville shut out Magoffin County 7-0 on Tuesday, March 12.
Dealing Magoffin County its second straight loss, Johnson Central blanked the Lady Hornets 15-0 in three innings in a 57th District game on Wednesday, March 13.
Following a long layoff for Magoffin County, Elliott County shut out the Lady Hornets 3-0 on Monday, March 25.
Knott County Central is 3-6. The Lady Patriots have posted wins over Cordia and Prestonsburg. Knott County Central swept a doubleheader from Cordia on Tuesday, March 19. A member of the 14th Region, Knott County Central has suffered losses to Pikeville, Pike County Central, Perry County Central, Wolfe County and Leslie County. Pike County Central defeated Knott Central twice over a three-day period earlier in the month.
Magoffin County defeated Knott County Central twice during the 2023 high school softball season, winning 16-0 (4 innings) and 16-1 (3 innings).
