A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday, September 9, marking the beginning of construction on the new Magoffin County Career and Technical Center. Among those in attendance were Scotty B. Patrick, pictured above, who donated $5 million to go toward the construction, as well as Representative John Blanton and Senator Brandon Smith. Former Superintendent Scott Helton and current Superintendent Chris Meadows also spoke at the event. The new Career and Technical Center will be located on the same campus as the Magoffin County High School.
