Stacy-led Pioneers win 58th consecutive game

RICHMOND, Ind. — Second-ranked Transylvania University rolled past Earlham College 103-35 in a late-season women’s college basketball game on Friday, Feb. 16.

With the win, Transylvania University tied DePauw University’s 58 game win streak that was set between 2012 and 2014.

The Pioneers recorded season highs in points (103), field goals made (41-of-74) and steals (21). It is the most points scored by a team in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and the most field goals made.

Senior guard Kennedi Stacy led the Transylvania with 21 points and a season- season high seven assists. A Magoffin County High School graduate, Stacy is among the top NCAA Division III women’s basketball players in the nation.

Following Stacy, Sydney Wright netted 11 points for the Pioneers.

Aiding Transylvania in its win, Dasia Thornton, Sadie Wurth and Riley Flinn each added 10 points.

The Pioneers shot 50 percent or better in every quarter.

Transylvania finished undefeated in the regular season for the third consecutive season. The Pioneers have won their last 72 regular season games.

Transylvania Head Coach Juli Fulks earned her 394th career coaching win.

The Pioneers are set to host the HCAC Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Clive M. Beck Center. Transylvania will be back on the court in the semifinals of the HCAC Women’s Basketball Tournament at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23.
