SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County senior forward Zane Whitaker has earned an offer from the Franklin College men’s college basketball program.
Whitaker picked up the offer from Franklin College in late-September.
A longtime standout for Magoffin County, Whitaker averaged 11.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a junior in the 2022-23 boys’ high school basketball season.
Whitaker scored 293 points and pulled down 159 rebounds for the Hornets during his junior campaign.
As a sophomore in the 2021-22 boys’ high school basketball season, Whitaker averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
A member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), Franklin College is located in Indiana.
Among the top returning players for Magoffin County, Whitaker continues to draw recruiting interest from additional men’s college basketball programs.
Whitaker and his Magoffin County teammates are preparing to open preseason practice.
