SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County outlasted Martin County 13-11 in a 57th District softball game on Wednesday, May 1.
Determined Magoffin County pushed across five runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to claim the district win.
Laney Bledsoe pitched for Magoffin County and earned the win in the circle. Bledsoe recorded 10 strikeouts.
Alyssa Mullins pitched for Martin County and suffered the loss in the circle. Mullins posted four strikeouts.
Magoffin County scored 13 runs on 12 hits. Bledsoe (two hits, two RBIs), Abby Barnett (three hits, two RBIs), Jaden Williams (three hits, one RBI), Kayleigh Lemaster (two hits, four RBIs), Bella Trusty (one hit, one RBI), Kiley Lemaster (one hit, one RBI) and Ava Hensley (one RBI) each produced offensively for the Lady Hornets.
Martin County plated 11 runs on only five hits. Bella Muncy (two hits, one RBI), Keilan Jewell (one hit, one RBI), Raegan Horn (one hit), Sophie Harless (one hit) and Kaylee Endicott (one RBI) each contributed offensively for the Lady Cardinals.
