Federal warrant served in Magoffin

SALYERSVILLE/PIKEVILLE – A Johnson County woman was arrested in Magoffin County on a federal warrant.

Tiffany Blanton, 33 years old, from Oil Springs, was picked up last Wednesday, January 8, by U.S. Marshals in Magoffin County, and taken to the Pike County Detention Center, where she remains at press time.

According to the indictment, issued in November 2024, on or about August 3, 2024, in Johnson County, Blanton allegedly distributed a mixture or a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.

The indictment included a forfeiture allegation, requiring her to forfeit all property related to the felony offense, including $1,104 in U.S. currency.

She was indicted on Tuesday, pleading not guilty and being appointed Andy Markelonis as counsel. A jury trial is tentatively set for March 10, in Pikeville.

If found guilty, Blanton faces not more than 20 years imprisonment, not more than a $1 million fine, and at least 3 years supervised release, plus a mandatory special assessment of $100 per count.

Editor’s Note: The indictment or charge of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
