SALYERSVILLE – While serving a bench warrant, police found a bag of heroin on the kitchen counter, resulting in more charges.
According to police reports, Magoffin County Sheriff Department Officer J. Caudill was serving a bench warrant on Sheila Taulbee Arnett, 52, of Salyersville, at a residence on Teacher Lane when he noticed a bag of heroin was laying on the kitchen counter.
Upon searching the rest of the home, more heroin was found, along with other drugs, scales and other drug paraphernalia, according to the citation. The drugs were seized, and test results are pending from Kentucky State Police’s lab in Ashland.
There’s no record of Taulbee being arrested, but she is currently charged with the following: trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (heroin); possession of a controlled substance, first degree, third or greater offense, drug unspecified; possession of a controlled substance; and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.
Taulbee is set to be arraigned on April 12 at 9 a.m. in Magoffin County district court.
