Remembering Barbara Patrick

Barbara Patrick, a longtime community leader, passed away on March 29. Barbara began her career with the Magoffin County Health Department in 1973 as a clerk, and through years of dedication, she faithfully served as an Administrative Assistant before becoming Public Health Director from 1992–1999.

In addition to her career with the health department, she was an active member of the Salyersville Kiwanis and was a Magoffin County Public Library Board Trustee.

In a message released from the Magoffin County Health Department, she was very eloquently described as such: “Barbara truly loved her community. She poured herself into serving others, not only through her work in public health, but also through her involvement with Kiwanis. Her leadership, compassion, and commitment helped shape and strengthen the community she cared so deeply about. Her legacy is one of service, kindness, and unwavering dedication. She will be remembered and missed by many. Sending prayers and heartfelt condolences to her family and all who knew and loved her.”
