SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County is scheduled to host a four-team high school football scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 11.
The upcoming high school football scrimmage will include Magoffin County, Breathitt County, Floyd Central and Pike County Central.
The format for the four-team high school football scrimmage has been finalized.
From 6:30-6:45 p.m., teams can practice kickoff and kickoff return. The kickoff and kickoff return plays will be non-contact.
The scrimmage will begin at 6:45 p.m., consisting of game situation, down and distance and punt (non-contact – fair catch or downed).
In addition, extra-point/field goal attempts will be non-contact.
“We are preparing for another scrimmage this week with Breathitt County, Floyd Central and Pike County Central,” confided Magoffin County Coach John DeRossett. “We are excited about our team. Our fine young men have worked hard. They are fun to coach, and watch develop.”
Magoffin County is scheduled to visit Montgomery County for its season opener on Saturday, Aug. 19. The Hornets are Indians are slated to meet in the tradition-rich Recreation Bowl.
