SALYERSVILLE – Following a postponement, Magoffin County is scheduled to host 57th District rival Martin County for a 2020-21 girls’ high school basketball season opener on Monday, Jan. 4.
Magoffin County dropped three games to Martin County during the 2019-20 girls’ high school basketball season.
Martin County is the reigning 57th District girls’ basketball champion.
Magoffin County ended the 2019-20 girls’ high school basketball season 2-26. Under the direction of head coach Justin Williams, Magoffin County is expected to show improvement during the upcoming campaign.
Martin County compiled a 21-10 record in the 2019-20 girls’ high school basketball season. Head coach Robin Newsome guides the Lady Cardinals.
Magoffin County’s 2020-21 schedule includes games versus Martin County, Prestonsburg, Montgomery County, Lawrence County, Johnson Central, Breathitt County, Betsy Layne, Paintsville, Fairview, Morgan County, Cordia, East Ridge, Buckhorn and Floyd Central.
