Hall finishes 13th in KHSAA Class 2A, Region 7 Meet

On Saturday the cross country team competed in the KHSAA 2A Regional Championships, hosted by Harlan County. The boys team did well with Matt Hall leading them with a time of 21:01, followed by Sullivan Rice, 24:05, Colton Boyd, 24:35, JP Owens, 29:21 and Eli Howard 29:22. The boys team placed 5th overall qualifying them for the state championship. The girls were lead by Miley Back with a time of 32:05, followed by Abigail Skaggs, Lashae Allen and Abigail Bradley. BAXTER — Magoffin County junior Matthew Hall finished 13th in the Boys’ 5,000 Meter Run during the KHSAA Class 2A, Region 7 Cross Country Meet at Harlan County on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Hall led the Hornets throughout the KHSAA Class 2A, Region 7 Cross Country Meet, completing the Boys’ 5,000 Meter Run in 21:01.08.

The Hornets placed fifth out of six boys’ teams.

Magoffin County did not have a girls’ team in the event. However, female runners from Magoffin County competed individually.

Runners from Magoffin County, Bath County, Estill County, Harlan County, Johnson Central, Letcher County Central, Morgan County, Perry County Central, Pike County Central and Powell County comprised the field for the KHSAA Class 2A, Region 7 Cross Country Meet.

Girls’ 5,000 Meter Run: 29th – Miley Back, 32:05.02; 34th – Abbie Skaggs, 42:51.83; 35th – Lashae Allen, 45:54.47; 36th – Abigail Bradley, 50:58.11.

Boys’ 5,000 Meter Run: 13th – Matthew Hall, 21:01.08; 26th – Sullivan Rice, 24:05.16; 29th – Colton Boyd, 24:35.62; 39th – JP Owens, 29:22.32; 40th – Eli Howard, 29:22.91.
