Joyce Duchnowski Prater age 77 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home. She was born January 09, 1946 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Sherman and Lucy Hackworth Prater.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Laurie) Duchnowski of Salyersville, Kentucky, John (Lisa) Duchnowski of Pikeville, Kentucky, Robert (Jomarie) Duchnowski of Salyersville, Kentucky, three daughters, Diane (Jose) Rivas of Somerset, Kentucky, Sandra (Darrell) Fay of Salyersville, Kentucky, Louann (Jim) Donnal of Alger, Ohio, four brothers, Abe Green Prater, Rocky Prater, Michael Prater all of Ohio, Ricky Prater of Michigan, three sisters, Arlene Ledesma, Valerie Nickels both of Ohio, Maxine Prater of West Liberty, Kentucky, with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her first husband, Zenon Duchnowski, second husband, Herman Cantrell, three sisters, Martha Corbit, Ellen Byle, and Brenda Kay Nickels.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 02, 2024 from the White Oak Pentecostal Church with John Duchnowski and Bill Shepherd. Burial followed in the Duchnowski and Prater Cemetery at Johnson Fork, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
